Disney Charged by SEC Over Director Hires

Walt Disney Co. has settled regulators' charges that the company failed to disclose a variety of business relationships between the company and some members of its board, the Securities and Exchange Commission said Monday.Disney, which wasn't fined in the matter, agreed to cease and desist from committing the alleged violations in the future, the SEC said. The company wouldn't comment.The allegations date back to 1999 and 2001, when Burbank, Calif.-based Disney failed to inform shareholders of the dealings involving the board members, the commission said.
