| Disney Store Remodel Schedule Modified
Children's Place Retail Stores Inc has modified its license agreement with Walt Disney Co and will be remodeling two more stores than planned, but delaying the completion dates. Children's Place has agreed to remodel 236 existing stores, two more than the previous agreement, but pushed back its 2007 and 2008 deadlines to finish the remodels.

With the ability to run nearly 4 miles per hour, the all-new ASIMO (Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility) humanoid robot is advancing closer to in-home applications. Beginning August 30th, Disneyland park guests can experience the latest version of ASIMO at the Honda ASIMO Theater inside the Innoventions attraction. In the Say 'Hello' to Honda's ASIMO show, park guests can see the newest ASIMO interact with a live host in a 15-minute science show.
The Disneyland Hotel towers feature brand-new names as Guests are welcomed into a tower of dreams, magic and wonder. In addition to the towers, the names of the ballrooms, pavilion and lawn are receiving new names as well.
Hollywood's legendary movie palace, The El Capitan Theatre, celebrates the upcoming October 2nd release of the two-disc 40th Anniversary Platinum Edition DVD of Walt Disney's animated classic "The Jungle Book," by taking moviegoers on a swingin' safari loaded with adventure, comedy, and jungle rhythms, during its exclusive 18-day engagement of the film (September 7th - 23rd). Every showing of the beloved 1967 Disney favorite will also feature a special appearance by Baloo, who will entertain and lead the audience in a sing-along of "Bare Necessities," and "I Wanna Be Like You."
From September 25 until the end of October, over 10 mysterious attractions and entertainment offerings filled with ghostly encounters, will appear during the Haunted Halloween at Hong Kong Disneyland. The creepy surprises include the Main Street Haunted Hotel, Space Mountain – Ghost Galaxy and Jack Skellington's Glow in the Park Halloween Parade. Guests can enjoy the Halloween entertainment with regular admission. The Park will extend its hours of operation on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as on October 31, to 11pm.
Walt Disney World's Epcot and Magic Kingdom theme parks will host ceremonies honoring the crew of the just-concluded NASA space shuttle Endeavour mission and the achievement of teacher-turned-astronaut Barbara Morgan on September 10, 2007. This will be the first official appearance of the STS-118 crew after returning to Earth.
Disney's Dreamers Academy with Steve Harvey, an enrichment event with a special appeal for African American high-schoolers, will take place in January 2008, inviting inspired teenagers to pack their bags -- and their dreams -- for Walt Disney World Resort. One hundred teens from across the United States with the potential for greatness and the courage to dream will be tapped for the Dreamers Academy weekend Jan. 17-20, during the heart of Disney's "Year of a Million Dreams" celebration.
The Children's Place Retail Stores Inc. has said it missed several deadlines to remodel and refresh numerous stores in the Disney Store chain and expects to miss more deadlines. Under a long-term license agreement with Walt Disney Co. , Children's Place operates the Disney Store retail chain in the U.S. and Canada. On June 8, Children's Place agreed to an amended license deal that included a timetable to renovate and upgrade hundreds of Disney stores.
Disney Publishing Worldwide will fold its Disney Adventures with the November issue to focus on new magazine and book efforts, a company spokesperson said. Disney Adventures is the second casualty in the kid magazine category this year since MTV Networks folded its 638,679-circ Nick Jr. Family magazine with the April issue.
After a brief appearance at Disney's California Adventure, the Muppet Mobile Lab has started a limited engagement in Epcot's Future World. The "Muppet Mobile Lab" show is part of a play test that Walt Disney Imagineering is running at Epcot for the next few weeks, giving the research and development staff a chance to try out more advanced robotic, interactive and transportation technologies, mixed with human comedy talent.
In September, guests can visit today's Canada as a major feature of the Canada pavilion in Epcot World Showcase. Titled "O Canada!", and presented in CircleVision 360, the updated film includes the nation's capital, Ottawa, with its Parliament buildings and Rideau Canal; the sophistication of Toronto, with its nightlife and film festivals; and Quebec City, the cradle of French civilization in Canada. The 14-minute motion picture is now hosted by Canadian actor Martin Short and Canadian Idol winner Eva Avila sings the music of "O Canada!"
Stitch, the mischievous creature; Dory, the forgetful fish; Simba, the lion cub from "The Lion King;" Winnie the Pooh and others will all soon be brought to life in a whole new way. Disney Friends, a unique simulation and adventure game exclusively for the Nintendo DS(TM) from Disney Interactive Studios will feature interactive adventures with the most popular Disney Characters. The game is scheduled to release Spring 2008.
The Disneyland Resort will host the Dream, Imagine, Create ~ The Art of Disney Parks Event September 13 - 15, 2007 . The will include artwork on display currently at the Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach, California, a special live auction where we will offer treasures from our private reserves including 50th Anniversary celebration items and beyond, as well as other opportunities to purchase archival pieces of Disney history. In addition, the Downtown Disney District will host an artist festival over the course of the weekend (September 15-16).
The U.S. Postal Service has unveiled four new Art of Disney Magic stamps. This year's set features Mickey Mouse, Dumbo, Peter Pan and Aladdin. This unveiling marks the fourth year in a row Disney has been honored with new stamps.
In the Walt Disney World theme park famous for all things Hollywood, it's curtain up on the launch of new attractions, new looks, new breakthrough experiences...and a brand-new name. Disney-MGM Studios will be renamed Disney's Hollywood Studios, effective January 2008, announced Meg Crofton, president of Walt Disney World Resort.
Disney Vacation Club, the innovative vacation-ownership program that helps families enjoy flexibility and savings on decades of future vacations, is officially opening the doors to a first-of-its-kind preview center. Located at the Woodfield Mall in the greater Chicago area, the preview center, called Disney's Doorway to Dreams, celebrated its grand opening on August 4, 2007.
A basic one-day, one-park ticket will cost $71 plus tax, up from $67. Pass prices for Florida residents and Annual Passholders have gone up as well. Other ticketing options have changed ithe number of vists on the Water Park Fun & More Add-On and the expiration period on the 4-Day Florida Resident Pass.
2008 Walt Disney World Magic Your Way Pricing and Details have been released. In addition to pricing updates, the Magic My Way Plus Dining package has been modified and a Magic My Way Plus Deluxe Dining package introduced.
Over the Summer Guests have been found a new gothic gate that blocking the Mansion grounds--attached a note from Master Gracey. This looming letter informed Guests that while the Mansion was closed it would open with some eerie enhancements in the Fall. New digital audio, enhanced classic scenes and a brand new scene exclusive to the Magic Kingdom's version are just part of the re-imagining of this classic Disney attraction. The Haunted Mansion is currently set to re-open September 13th, just in time for the first of the 2007 Mickey's Not-so-Scary Halloween Parties.
The Walt Disney Co. has bought the popular online kids hangout Club Penguin for $350 million, adding to its portfolio a site that in less than two years has been become a rage among preteens. Club Penguin offers a mix of games and chatting tools targeting kids ages 6-14. It nearly tripled in usage in the United States over the past year, according to comScore Media Metrix, and executives hope to expand to additional markets abroad and gain even more customers through promotions on other Disney-branded sites.
The Walt Disney World and Disneyland resorts have decided to continue the current "Year of a Million Dreams" promotion. The promotion originally set to end December 31, 2007 will now continue through December 31, 2008. The Walt Disney World resort has announced "new parades and the exciting new attraction, Toy Story Mania" to debut during the extended promotion, the Disneyland resort has yet to announce how it will continue the promotion.
